PT Diamond Backers Pirates Tickets Sale

The PT Diamond Backers are working on the 4th annual PNC Park Experience for the team. For the past 3 years, we have had the chance to participate in a game at PNC Park for the Varsity team.  Click below for the flier for the event. As you can see, we have 4 game choices this year including 2 on the weekend that Andrew McCutchen makes his return to PNC Park.

DB Pirate ticket flier for 2018 (1)

We need to have completed orders returned to Andrea Young by April 17. The 1st 500 ticket orders need to be sent to PNC Park before the boys can play the game on Saturday, April 21. Each player/family has a goal of 10 tickets. The boosters will make a profit of $5 per ticket regardless of the selling price.  This goal has been very attainable and we’ve had players sell between 25-60 tickets each.  The event has become a really fun tradition for the boys, and last year, we hosted a picnic at PNC after the game and had a ton of fun. We have plans to do that again this year.  The JV players get to sit in the dugout with the varsity team during the game, and the Freshmen will sit behind the dugout.

We will be creating a goal chart and updating it each week and as we get closer to April 17, each day. We look forward to 100% participation with the event and fundraiser! Thank you in advance for helping to promote this event.

Kind Regards,

Beth Mary and Andrea Young

Business and Player Media Guide Ads

Now that the teams are picked,  there is still time to place a business ad in the baseball media guide to show your support for the boys. If you own a business or work for a business that would like to place an ad,  please let us know as soon as you can.  We can personalize the business ad for you by adding your players name or a good luck statement. Also, we are starting to take personal ads for the players. Please check out the links at the bottom of this page for the ad forms. If you have any questions,  please contact Greg Mottola at gsmott@verizon.net

Thank you!

Please email ptdiamondbackers@gmail.com if you have any questions or agenda items.  Thank you!

2018 Schedules

The 2018 schedules are up for all teams on this website.  See below…

Wreaths Across America

More than 25 players participated in a volunteer activity on Saturday, December 16th.  Each December on National Wreaths Across America Day, the mission to Remember, Honor and Teach is carried out by coordinating wreath-laying ceremonies at Arlington National Cemetery, as well as over 1,200 additional locations in all 50 U.S. states, at sea, and abroad.  The players, along with Coach Maize, laid wreaths at the graves of fallen soldiers at the Cemetery of the Alleghenies.

Sally’s Scramble Memorial Golf Outing

The 2nd annual Sally’s Scramble Memorial golf outing took place at Valley Brook Country Club on July 31, 2017.  By all accounts, it was an extremely successful event. Thank you to those who volunteered to watch the hole-in-one contest and those who donated Chinese auction prizes.  Special thanks to Michele Vulcano (and daughter) and Beth Mary for helping to put together the baskets.  We donated 14 baskets for the outing!

Last year, this event significantly benefited our teams through generous senior scholarships, cleats for JV and V, and new warm up jackets.

The Peters Township Indians Baseball Booster Club, the Diamond Backers, was established as a support to encourage parent participation and to raise funds to enhance and expand the PTHS baseball programs.

Peters Township baseball has a rich tradition of producing winning teams including Section Championships, WPIAL Championships as well as many players moving on to play at the collegiate level of play. We are also very proud of the fact that our teams have produced 8 players who were also drafted into the Major Leagues. The success of our Indians is made possible because we have continued to have a great coaching staff, awesome young athletes and a tremendous amount of community support.
